About the festival

A celebration of music, dance and smiles in the heart of the Lubuskie region!

The Regional Centre for Cultural Animation proudly organises one of the most colourful and joyful events in our region: the “Oblicza Tradycji” (Faces of Tradition) International Folklore Festival. Every year in early July, Zielona Góra and partner towns across the Lubuskie region become a vibrant global village, celebrating the beauty of diversity and the wealth of cultural heritage from around the world.

About the festival

“Faces of Tradition” is more than a music festival. It is a meeting place where borders fade and folk art becomes a shared language. Our aim is to keep traditions alive, build bridges between generations and nations, and create unforgettable experiences for residents and visitors alike. Each edition offers a unique opportunity to admire authentic costumes up close, hear traditional instruments and feel the incredible energy coming from the stage.

What can you expect at the festival?

The programme is carefully designed to offer something for everyone, from young children to older adults. Our regular attractions include:

  • Colourful processions: Spectacular street parades where performers from around the world showcase their costumes and talents, sharing their joyful energy with everyone along the way.
  • Concerts and performances: Major stage events filled with spirited dancing and live music.
  • FolkoStrefa (Folk Zone): A special space for workshops and activities. Join educational “FolkoZabawy” games for children, take part in creative “FolkoGranie” musical improvisations and discover folk culture through hands-on experiences.
  • The festival across the region: Our festival travels! Concerts take place in Zielona Góra and in many charming towns throughout the Lubuskie region, bringing folklore directly to local communities.
